Hi
I have the above and my mitsu service agent says i need new rear pads, can anyone give me an idea are non genuine pads suitable to use and if so which ones, and what sort of price fitted for genuine /off brand should i be expecting?

Its generally better to match the brake pad compounds front and rear either genuine or aftermarket. I have just put on bendix general CTs front and rear on an TJS2 executive. The rears were $78 at Repco and $64 at a smaller brake place. So probably better to go with the genuines to maintain braking balance with the ABS unless you want to replace the front also.
The CTs seem ok, only had them on for 2 days will see how they go after they have bedded in.
They are not a performance pad but for general use they seem to have gotten reasonable writeups. I have been told by a brake place that the lower spec Bendix Advance brake pads although perfectly safe aren't as good as genuine ones, so you are probably looking at atleast $60-70 for a set of rears aftermarket that are equivalent.

I just replaced my pads and rotors all round (AWD) I only bought cheap pads - A1 brand from Campbeltown Auto 1 for $40.00 set. They are pajero pads and rotors. Would have liked to get better pads but the total cost was around $520 as it was. the DBA standard rotors were dearer than I expected $130 each (f) $90 each (r)
they seem to be ok for my use. will see how long they last
oh I installed them myself

Ct are the lower grade Bendix,(automatic bed in process though) they don't make advance anymore but that was the next level above. Bendix Ultimates(BA XR6 Turbo standard equip) are above both & great pads but as per any good pad will chew your brake rotors quicker.

From their website they do make advance and they have discontinued the ultimates for the AWD.

Greenmatt I can't comment on the AWD pads but my 2wd had them fitted (Ultimate) 4 days ago. Maybe they stopped making them for AWDS or I I have last of the batch.
