Hey all, hope im posing in the right area. dunno what this should go under really...

After turning my car on and off repeatedly (about 5 times) but letting it run for about 5 min a time (i was mucking about with oil level) the display on the stock radio flashes some sort of error code at me before starting to play the cd. it only happens when the radio is in the cd mode and it only flashes up on the screen about 5 times and then the cd starts and plays fine.

the cd player needed a clean as it was starting to skip occasionaly, but has now been cleaned using one of those cd thingos - it all plays fine now. The power antenna which on my model has two height settings will occasionaly go to the lower setting after much button pushing but then go to the full setting by itself after a few min.

anyway the radio display flashes a code: E-4 about 5 times or so under these conditions.

anybody have a suggestion at to its cause? or has this appeared on any other radio out there?

the radio is the stock double DIN unit from the 1997 KE Verada with cd player/tape/radio.

E-4 error code is Disc is dirty or upside down. Try resetting the unit by holding the power button for more than 6 seconds. :D
