ok, so I finally got my car back and was able to install some bigger brakes over the weekend. fairly straight forward install, done in about 2.5 hours (including bleeding and testing and bleeding again). the second side took about 30 minutes from go to whoa, so if you've done this sort of stuff before it would probably only take 1.5 hours.

trickiest thing was to cut the dust guards so that the bigger rotors fit (I could have removed them, but wanted to keep them).

comparison of the rotors:

comparison of the calipers:

more to follow...

they are PBR Corvette C6 twin pots.

this is the same brake kit that TZABOY has on his Ralliart.

all I need to do now is fix up the rears.... anyone want to donate some Ralliart/AWD rears?

$1700 + shipping.

you get everything you need to install except brake fluid.

kit includes DBA 320mm rotors, PBR C6 Corvette calipers, pads, braided hoses, adapter plates, and all bolts, nuts, washers etc...

I've been told the rotors are $800 by themselves.

cheers,

Wooks, VERY NICE!
I think (can't remember how ruthless my last clean up was) i still have a set of evo backing plates/dust guards for 320mm rotors in the shed if u want them...they fit straight up but the guys that race EVO's recon it's better cooling on the track with them off so i left em off...

Cummins.

I don't think super cheap will be able to help you...

Hoppers Stoppers http://www.hoppers.com.au

they don't have the kit on they're web site (yet!?), but just drop them an email and ask for the Magna brake upgrade kit.

I ordered on Monday, it came on Wednesday (although they packed the wrong bolts, replacements came on Friday) and installed it on Saturday.

very happy with both the product and the customer service.

thanks Dan.

seeing as I butchered the original dust plates with an angle grinder  I might take you up on that. you can see in the last pic of the first post that they kinda fit, but they're not real pretty.

we'll have to have another cruise soon!!! looking forward to showing off my new shiny/fast bits!

looks good! just wondering if anyone has done any work/upgrades to the master cylinder? surely that would help get the most out of the new setup

peter from hoppers stoppers looked into all of this b4 he went ahead with making this kit. it may of taken wookie 3 days to get his kit but i had to wait a few about 2 weeks while he did his reasearch. he told me that there was no need to modify the master cylinder and these calipers would work perfectly together.

I dont think i can get the car to any better than it is now

Wook, nice one brother! now 2 magnas on here have the PBR setup. who will be next?

I made up my own master cylinder brace that helps give a much firmer pedal by reducing unwanted firewall/booster flex (you'd be amazed at how much the booster moves when ya push on the pedal hard) but you already knew i had done that anyway william.
