Hey just wanting a rough estimate as to how much I could sell my car for in it's current state.

1999 Mitsubishi Magna Altera LS Sedan ( Model: TH )
Automatic 3.5L V6
Silver
79,200 k's ( Serviced Recently at 76,000 )
4 brand new directional tread tyres ( 1 week old, 225mm ; will get the name soon )
Perfect Exterior & Interior ( Washed regularly )
Front seat covers and floor mats.
I haven't added anything to this car so it's stock as a rock.

Very nice car to drive.

Thanks. :D

Thats some very low km's there... I thought mine was low at 150000, I have same vehicle (Well model wise)... Being an 8 yr old car you would be lucky to grab 5-6grand (Trade in)... Sell private 9g. I had mine valued for trade on Typhoon, but its nothing to go on cos they uped the trade value to make turnover look more respectable. They offered me 12ish two years ago.

Yeah very low k's. The first owner kept it garaged for most of the year, and then traded it in to a car yard. I used it last year to drive to work and back to work 5 days a week, and a bit of weekend driving. Only did about 150 k's a week, if that.

Anyway, thanks for the info! :D

Low kms!! Mine has only just past 200,000 and its a 98  Rang daddy told him its time to buy me a new car, may get booted from AMC if i repete what he told me i could do with my request.... lol

I worked for a classified newspaper here in WA and its quite rare you see those kms on a 3rd Gen so i would have a look through where you plan to advertise and find something simular to yours, just remeber things like mags may have cost you $1500 but other people looking to buy your car dont see the $$ signs only you do.

Oh and the "can go quick if you want it to" i wouldnt go saying that in any ads, only coz first reaction to that is you have thrashed it.

IMO i recon $8k

Yeah but I don't thrash it... Hence the perfect condition.

Once, I floored it to get to 80 - thats it.

Anyway thanks for that! :D

I bought my '99 TH with 79,000Ks around 4-5 months ago for 9.5K from a dealer. If you're going private sale, and it's an auto, I wouldn't say more than 8.5K.

I'm on Trainee wages - get the bus to work, so I do maybe 50km's a week now around town. Shops, movies and friends etc. So no need to "thrash" around Coles and K-Mart carparks.

I live in Karratha if anyone knows where that is.

I "floored" it once. Yes you can still go quick without flooring it, but not pedal slammed in.

I sit on 120kph when driving long distances on the 110kph road.

I keep my car clean and tidy so when the day comes to sell it, I get the most I can.

Sorry if you think "all 18 year olds are reckless"

I drive safe because I lost a very close friend last year in a car crash involving high speeds. :( I also know other mates I went to school with that have also died from car crashes. :(

Don't assume before you call BS thanks. You don't know who you are talking to, nor do you know me personally.

Sorry if that sounded harsh, but it's the truth...

Anyway, thanks again for the quotes. It seems most people think I can get 7-8.5k for it.

That redbook site was handy and so were the carsales websites.

Cheers. :D

Car yards offered me 3-4g on my Magna before upping the trade-in for the sale.

I would assume you could expect around 5-6g based on the K's and condition.

Privately, I would expect you could price it at 10g flat, and get about $8500-9000, might take a while to sell though.

Ah Hydro Don't take it personally buddy, unfortunatly your in the age category that is most vulnerable to accidents, becos people from the past have given then younger generation a bad name behind the wheel. Until "young" drivers stop dieing on the roads they will always have the "hoon" logo above their heads. If you know that your a safe driver, thats all that matters. :D

Nah I just don't like when people automatically assume something about me when they don't know me :D

Anyway - Your right. I know im a safe driver, thats all that matters to me. I just gotta watch out for everyone else on the road. :gtfo:

I agree...

That was what I was quoted even before I bought my TE. A Private sale can get a TH around 8500 for 80000ks. And it seems like the drop of fuel price have made the value remain or slightly higher, well thats what I seen lately on the papers anyway. At one time I saw a TJ going for 8K that was really reasonable, now they are back at 9-13k mark.

:bowrofl: Im 22, nearly 23, i am a mother of 2 boys under 4, i run a young mothers group, i do scrapbooking and occasionally knit, i have a baking day where i make all sorts of cakes, pavs, cookies, scones......So i am all mother and i thrash the **** out of my car lol

I am only suggesting what i would not want to know about a car when im looking to buy, yeah my car goes good when you plant your foot but i dont think i will be telling anyone that when (if) i ever sell her. And also information and from my experience on working for a paper, good luck mate ;)
