Hi guys,
I got a set of Fog lights which fit the TE.
Any advise in how to install them?
Do I need to remove bumper etc?
I will do a writeup if given good directions here.
My peference is to have a switch seperated from the headlights as I know the legal issues having them on when you dont need to.
For this setup just as an individual lighting what do I need? As in I have wiring but not sure what or how to connect. Do I need a new relay etc?
I also have a switch.
Your generous knowledge about this would be useful.
Hehe I got them for under $150 on ebay, i think its a reasonable buy as dealers asked for $475.00 each! Thats as much as a parabolic headlight. goodness.
Thanks in advance for your input.

They are the opriginal fog lights for the bottom bumper. Not BM.
I am lazy atm to take pics atm. People who have them know what I am referring to.
Help is appreciated.

I did this the other day, however I had the actual new indicator stalk from a VRX/Verada to use. Yeah, I used a relay. The trigger wire simply came from my parkers, and when I switch the switch on in the stalk it completes the cricuit by going to ground. Then simply a power wire from the battery with a fuse close to the battery, then from the relay to each foglight, then the lights are simply grounded near by. Make sense? Probably not. Sorry. But now, mine work exactly as if they were put there from factory.

hmm I still just want to on them seperately. Not going to get the stalk for it as the wreckers will go about $100+ for one.

Yup, I called up my local wreckers and they quoted $110. Then I noticed a guy wrecking out a TH Sports on eBay, gave him a call... $15 including postage.
For a seperate switch, there are actually some pre-made wiring kits (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/SPOT-LIGHT-WIRING-KIT-COMPLETE-SWITCH-RELAY-WIRING_W0QQitemZ290075069965QQihZ019QQcategoryZ102 560QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)available off of eBay. I bought this, and used it, but changed it a little bit to wie it up the way I did.

Yes Nick, Just a simple on off switch. As it is not legal to have them all on when you dont need to.
D-Van has given a nice link to my solution for wiring. I may just get it to save me the trouble.
Any difficulty in installing the lights at all or do they fit straight in? Duration to get them fitted to the bumper?

Hurray, I can fit my fog lights in 5 mins.
A bit surprised no one told me it was that easy just to remove the grill bellow next to the fog light and a straight forward screw that holds it in place.
As I am connecting a new wiring to my switch in the car. I need to know how do I get the wires pass through to the driver's or passenger area?
Do I remove the whole firewall or are there steps to follow?
Help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

If you are not familiar with how to wire up a switch, I suggest taking to a sparky and pay
him to do it properly.
You need a relay to run off the parker wiring and battery +ve so that it can only be turned
on if at least the parkers are on (by law). The relay also issolates the switch from high
currents (battery +ve). You can poke a hole on the firewall and insert a grommet and feed
the wires through that. Also do a search here as step by step instructions have been
posted by me before.

Thanks man, I am using the wiring that D-Van introduced. It recommended a connection to the highbeam which might be wrong in this case?
For those who are curious, the Driving light wiring kit can be bought at Super cheap for $15.00 rather than from Ebay which is the exact same product.
Again thanks for the input. I have read up on how to get the wiring through the firewall.

The wiring was simple afterall, using the wiring kit from Super Cheap Autos which only cost under $15.00 you may need some extra wiring to extend it long enough to reach one of the other fog light.
Fog light uses H3 globes.
As vlad stated, connect them to one of your parkers which ever is nearer. I choose to go through the firewall on the drivers side as some how the 4 cylinder looks slightly different and I could not locate any rubber stuff on the passenger side. No holes were needed to drill as I could slide the wiring through one of the gasket (power steering) I think.
The switch which was provided was good as it has a light indicator to show that it is on or off.
Overall it was under 170 for the whole setup. pretty happy with it.
