i dont no how you feel about farty, cr@ppy sounding exhausts but if you dislike them like most ppl then replace that muffler with SOMETHING else.. dont just cut it out
i no the problem your having, i had the same problem on my last car... the middle muffler becomes the lowest point of the car with the redback system fitted

I thought the centre one was a resonator... not a muffler.

I say go for it. I had been meaning to do it for ages before I got the TT install - but now I'm just going for a straight up 3" exhaust upgrade w/ no centre muffler (turbos have quite a significant muffling effect on their own).
The standard redback rear muffler is quite large, and there is something that looks like a "hot dog" resinator welded the section of pipe where it "dog legs" around the fuel tank.
So all in all - as long as you don't mind it being abit louder, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Dude beleive me you dont want that. I know i ran mine for about 1 month before going in and replacing with high flow satinless res. I too thought it would sound good but hell no it was just as raspy and sounded worse than most bloody hyundai's. Also you'll cop a heap of drone in the car aswell as more attention to those who run the red and blue light atop of their cars.
I was going to remove the centre res and place in a second muffler...........maybe, but you should look at getting you exhaust raised slightly huh:nuts:

exactly.... cut it out and put a smaller muffler in there...
If you want people to point and laugh, including me. Chop it.
If you want people to point and say sweet, leave it or replace it with something smaller.
I originally put a hotdog ressie in after redoing my exhaust. The car sound nice on idle (really edgey and loud) but above 3000RPM it just sounded really really tinny and farty and the whole care vibrated. I went back to a stock type centre resonator, and problem solved, with no performance loss that I could tell. And I've never scraped the ressie with super low fronts and low rears.

I cut mine out and it made my car sound like a weed wacker under load, otherwise it sounds ok and believe it or not it drones alot less on the freeway than with it on.
anyway, I'm looking at getting a new smaller resonator and a smaller rear muffler. The redback muffler is huge!

lol my car is the complete opposite, farty down low but sounds awesome 3000rpm and above :D

Doubt it get someone to drive it past you revving at the range and you'll hear a different story. Or go and get in dynoed and stand behind it when it gets done!!

Like I said, believe it or not.
I travel on the western ring road quite frequently and its definately quieter on the freeways after getting it removed.
Watch this perfect example of what happens when you remove the resonator from a redback system. Alot of farting (dont worry about the first 45 seconds);

Maybe your S'Chrger has silenced it slightly, but you still have the rasp. Not trying to pick on ya but really get someone to drive it hard past you and you will see what i'm talking about. S'Chrger sounds good. Could sound really SHouse like this:

Try to set off a car alarm 50m in front of you then we'll talk about loud!!

theres a difference between resonators and mufflers....
resonators are there to quieten only certain resonating frequencies through the exhaust.. mufflers are there to reduce dB in all exhaust noises. Hence why droning occurs when you remove the resonator... or have one fitted thats not designed for the certain vehicles exhaust resonance.
