Picked car up from 30'000 service yesterday and mentioned to dealer the "tackiness" of the excess trim around near the front speakers in the A pillar (380 owners should know what im talking about here). Dealer has ordered new trim bits to replace them.

Was this just a series one thing or what and has anybody else had theirs replaced. If not then try your dealer, mine was very good.

Cheers.

Apparently this was fixed up in series 2, so series 1 buyers should all hopefully get it fixed without any issues.

Not sure what you mean by the excess trim but here is a pic of my pillars (series 2)...

Hmmm... mine is a Series 1 but I'm not quite sure what you're referring to. But I'll have a good look tomorrow. Mine is due for 15,000 service in a week or two.
Has anybody else (with a Series 1) noticed this?

Yeah, judging by your pic they have definitely fixed the initial trim problem in the series 2. Its the dark foam type of material used for padding between two plastic items, which, in the series 1 models, protuded out about 3-4mm from between the airvent and the side A pilar trim.

Was mentioned a few times from memory in a some first drive write-ups from various journo's.

Thanks for the pic.

I had a good hard look in that area, and couldn't see anything sticking out between the trims - so I guess I was lucky.

can someone else put up a pic of the same area in a series 2 maybe so we can see the difference? :)

Have a look at Zarb's thumbs - that's a Series 2.

Mine is exactly the same; no probs.

Yeah that would be great but.....the dealer butchered the trim in my car trying to "remove" the excess trim. Hence his desire and helpfulness in replacing the entire piece of trim lol

no point in trying to remove the small piece of exposed foam, it's near impossible to do it! it's a dealer service excercise to replace the affected pillar trims with new ones.. which dont have the exposed foam! all carried out under warranty!
