Anybody knows if Mitsu would do a conversion to a manual or should I better look for somewhere else?
And if so, does anybody knows a good place (in sydney) where the conversion could be done succesfully?
And (last question ........for now) anybody has any ideas of how much?
Cheers
P.S. I did a search, but either I am to old to know how to use the search thingy or there is not a clear answwer ito my questions.
oh, and i forgot to mention, i have a ralliart

Mitsubishi might do the conversion for you. If they were to do it, it would cost a hell of alot because they would probably only do it with a factory re-co'ed gearbox, and they would insist that you need a new ECU and new driveshafts etc.
2nd hand gearboxes start at around $1000, but Ralliart gearboxes are rare as rocking horse ****. Most any wrecker who has a manual magna in their yard would be able to give you a "conversion kit" which will include the transmission + all other associated hardware.
I'll leave the rest up to the members who have completed a manual conversion, or who have researched it thourougly.

i wouldnt bother going to a dealer, they charge an arm and a leg.
depending if you suppy the parts or not. a memeber on the forums is supplying oarts if you are interested. you are looking at $1.5k+ for labour alone and prolly $3-4 for a manual conversion. thats rougly the going the rate.no i dea how much a ralliart box or such would cost though

One of the wreckers here in Adelaide were selling the entire engine, LSD, extractors and gearbox out of a ralliart for $4200.

Thanks a lot guys. Looks like it could be quite an expensive exercise. I'll have to have a closer look. Chances r that I'm not going to be able to find a ralliart box
