In the dash of my TJ Advance I have a couple of caps covering the spot where a pair of additional speakers would be in a different model. Are there wires sitting just under these caps? Is it a big hassle to install some speakers there? Anyone done this? What's the story...

Easy to install tweets, very dificult to install 3"/4" drivers in there.

If you want to install tweets (1") just buy the stock delta tweet panel from mitsu (off veradas/vrx etc)

Im getting my uncle to get me some of the delta tweeter pods from a KL so i can put tweets in my TL. The pods on the top can have speakers, there are no wires that i can easily see (the caps just pop off) but i dont think it would be overly difficult to put some wires through.

Yeh, iv popped them off before, i was also guessing, good place it place tweeter, but didnt see and wires.

I got the same in my TJ VRX. Was thinking about putting some tweeters in there or a 3inch or something. Just seems a waste not having anything in there.

the verada with the premium sound system has the speakers there im 99% sure. ive jus had tweeters drilled into the caps, and running wires to a crossover was a piece of cake.

they have a midrange in there

Those holes in the dash are speakers from the factory stereo on my vrx. They seem to play ambient noises.

As Matt said the speakers in those holes in the dash are the mid range ones. The tweeters fit into the door deltas.

No my TH Altera LS has them in there as well so i now have 3 way splits in the front.
