Howdy. It could be the starter solenoid. Its a round cylinder that sits next
to the starter motor. Its probably seized. What you can do is get someone
to help you because you can't be at two different places at the same time.
Get a friend to use a heavy wrench or hammer and tap away at the
solenoid, start of gently and gradually increase in strength. At the same
time you try to start the car up. They generally seize after a long trip cos
of the heat. Its a stupid place to put it (right next to the exhaust manifold).

i had a brand new one fitted under warranty it was as vlad said the exhaust had heated up the "throw out plates" and warped them and then when i turned it of they did not retracted so it was jamed in the running postion so has any one had this happen on thier magna before apparanlty it is common after a long trip in magnas well thats what the racv guy said

Its not very common. Depends on how old the solenoid is. My TP used to
do it a lot and I learnt to live with it. Never got it replaced. However, with
my KS. The solenoid died after 200000km from new. It was only able to
knock start it twice before I had to replace it.
