So KS owners will know that there is the two separate modules for the CD player and the radio cassette player. What I want to know is; can i replace the CD player with say a Pioneer MP3/CD player, and have it still work with the radio cassette? I want to keep it working with that so that I can still use the buttons on the steering wheel for the volume etc.

Are there any ways around this?

Hey, I used to have a KS Xi (well sorta, thank god i aint no more :D) and yes you can, but till coast around a extra $200. I looked into getting it done and decided it wasnt worth it considering all decent decks have remores lol.

They put in a adapter which works by using the buttons on the steering wheel to send remote waves to the remote sensor on the deck or whatever.

They are wiredup, with 1 single wire (yellow from memory I think), but if you get the adapter to use them with a aftermarket deck, then its done by a remore system.

I was quoted almost $200 at Complete Audio (in adelaide) for it, I never done it tho, they are more of a wank factor "omg fully sick I got steering wheel control bro! does the VL turbo have that uleah?"

Man I am embarrased to admit that I used to brag about the poxy things that the verada xi's have I thought they were top ****, then go in say a EB/ED fairmont :D lol...

EDIT:- I had the wrong name of the place haahhaha

I don't think steering wheel volume control is a "wank factor" I think it's very useful. I use it all the time?

I'm sorry you feel embarassed about yourself because you owned an Xi.

I think you should be more embarassed about other things, rather than being embarassed that you were once proud of your car.

I'll pay that mate, you allways crack me :p I did like the car, but the novety soon wore off.. it's like... I dunno the say a skyline is a 1,600kg playstation... so the verada is like a 1,800kg Commodore64 :D boring and gutless :D
