Curious to see an actual screen of the sat nav fitted to the centre console....
Anybody know if the parts(facias etc) are available Ex Mitsi?

you can get better aftermarket sat nav units now that'd be cheaper than those ones.. thats if they are even available now..
Eclipse AVN6000 (has sat nav, dvd, cd, mp3 and TV tuner input) retails for $3499 (with free 9" rear screen now im pretty sure).. i just went for that.. best all in one headunit on the market i think..

I guess i might have to ring mits to find out. I was just wondering as i know where i can pick one up bnib fairly cheap. Was actually thinking garmin which will cost me nearly twice as much but at least it is portable.
Anyway if anyone does know how much they cost that would be great.

The GTVi would look the same the only difference being is that on the GTVi Sat Nav was an optional extra. Mine doesn't have it, instead there is an ashtray and cigarette lighter. You might be able to see it in my signature photos below.
Also click here (http://autoweb.drive.com.au/cms/A_1781/article.html) if you want to read about the GTV

I think the console height is different between KJII and KL?

For the record when the cupholder was open the satnav view was blocked.
Stupid location to put it - it would be better if you find one of the boys who has adapted the din slots for the screen and moved the head unit down to where the ashtray is.

Mate keep us updated on how you go with the install. Photo's etc would be great, I'm very interested to see the final result, I seriously thinking about doing this too. How much did you end up paying for it?

I have driven a rent a Verada with one down there before.
As dave-au said, most stupid place to put it as you cant see the screen well. Wouldnt even bother having it if it had to be down there.
Also drove a VZ rent a commy with it down there too. Was the most usless system i have ever used. Black and grey screen, and so hard to use.
To think they offer these as factory options.

I havent actually bought that gps but i was thinking about it though. It seems smarter to buy a normal gps so i can move it from car to car. I could always make a facia if i wanted to install it the same way. that gps is around 800 second hand ( its new in the box and unused though). I can get a better gps for the same $$$ so the mits one doesnt seem the smart way to go. I was thinking of calling mits and seeing if they sold the fascia separately.
I dont think install would be much different to any other gps as the unit is a standalone unit with the console part.
