Hi Everyone,
I'm new here - Dave from Sydney.

I just bought myself a 2003 Magna TL VR AWD - picked it up for an absolute bargain at Auction.

It has only done 51000km, is immaculate inside and out, and has full log book servicing.

The best bit...... paid only $13600!

I'm very much enjoying my new ride - drive is so smooth and enjoyable. I wasn't a huge mitsubishi fan in the past, but this car has changed my mind!

I'm not a ricer -no plans to hot it up (stock is fine), but have booked it in to get darkest legal tint next week.

Sorry for the crap picture - it was taken before I bought it.

Welcome mate, nice price you got there...partly the reason I got my car also :D

Yeah, really happy with the price. It's insured for $21000

The massive hit new buyers take on resale value means a second hand buyer like me wins big time!

It was a $42 000 car only 3 years ago!

thats a dam good price you paid
seen as your going to leave it stock for now i would recommend getting a K&N panel filter

where is a good place to get the k&n filter (what's a good price?)

I would recommend against it on a stock motor. Been there done that.

what are the advantages and disadvantages of putting a k&n panel fliter on a stock TL VR AWD?

RPW has them for only $63:

When it comes to the panel v pod debate, do a search in 'magna mods', you'll find the search feature very useful.

pod isn't an option for me, so the only question is if panel is worth it for $63 (plus shipping) on a stock? Opinions?

Do it.

Very nice buy mate! I just got my TL ES for 11K on road at xmas so def picked up a huge bargain there!

The K&N panel filter causes a flat spot in the engine apparently but an easy way to fix this is by using one of Barry's Fuel Rail Kits. If you do a search youll find more info about it. $63 is a very good price for a filter though.

However if your gonna keep the car stock and not mess around with the engine then dont bother with the K&N, just do ya tint, stereo rims or whateva you want.

I've finally taken some better photos with the new tint done.

Anyone in Sydney looking to get tinting done, I can thoroughly recommend Rob from Hunters Hill Tinting - great quality for awesome price!

After a week of driving, i can report I am now thoroughly a magna man! It handles so well - that awd helps it stick so well.

Mmm... Daintree green! Just like my TJ AWD! You'll enjoy it, they are so much fun. I went for a drive through Royal national park south of sydney today, they handle so nicely (and I haven't put in the sports shocks I just bought yet! )

I did the same! I went for a drive down to Garie beach for a swim. I think I may have seen you driving the other way - what time were you there:?

~5-6pm-ish. Got roof racks as well. Got a new driving run now, from wisemans ferry up through St Albans, then on the dirt to Buckety/Central Mangrove. Its a bit narrow, but great fun. Takes a bit of time though

Welcome to AMC - that is a nice ride for the price
I think the K & N was an easy mod that has helped air flow - I am going to upgrade soon to a pod but it is worth the $$$ as it is much more free flowing and you will not have to replace it once you have bought it as long as you look after it.
Hope to see ya out on one of our cruises soon
