Hi,imcurrently wrecking a KS verada ATM and am wondering what is the little metal box mounted in front of the auto computer?

The airbag computer on the 2nd gen is located under the center console, up the back of it.

Wouldn't be airbags, they only came out on the KR's.

No KR's had airbag's, they only came out on the TS/KS... all KS Xi's have airbags, and it was a option on the TS Magna, an KS Verada Ei, alarm controler on the 2nd gen (factory one) is under the rear parcel shelf, and aftermarket ones are in the engine bay 9x out of 10....

Nah I'm 99% sure that only the KR's came out with the ECS system and it wasn't an option on any other model. It was discontinued in '96 when the KS's came out due to problems with the system.

Its has no air bag.

Ah, I see I meant the suspension lol.

Has standard suspension too,only KR had the adjustable stuff.

Ring up mitsu tmw and give them the part number, they might be able to shred some light...

well u could take it out and see if u can start the car, to see if anything isn't working or u might get an error code:bowrofl:

If that was behind the cd and next to the ECU, its the ETACS system which controls the
security, speed sensitive wipers, cruise, power windows etc etc (basically its the body
computer). ETACS stands for Electronic Time and Alarm Control System. And also, Skotty,
the little box under the rear parcel shelf is the RF receiver for the remote central locking.

From the MMAL parts system......Its the cruise control.....Helps when you work here :bowrofl:

Climate Control, attached to the pictured box behind stereo
Cruise, box shown
ABS, LH rear quater under panel
ECS RH rear quater under panel
