just to start another Vs thread, was looking at a TE (mums car) and saw the TARE weight was about 120kgs heavier than my TF!!!

whats the main differences in the models which would cause this???

I never realised this until i saw the rego sticker of a TH the other day and it was only 1300kgs compared to my TE which is 1500kgs.

Dont know what models you have but im guessing that because i have the altera that would be the main reason why.

both are exec's but mine a manual... that shouldnt really have that much of a difference though... mines even built in the same year as hers!

It'll be a mitsu typo - in the sales literature for the TL's they had the heights all wrong (typo) so its probably the same here. I'm especially dubious about the TE as it was in fact 200kgs/ish lighter than the previous model so it seems someone may have forgotten to update something

Chuck it on a weigh station and see!

According to drive.com.au, the kerb weights are:

1997 TE 3.0 4sp auto - 1454kg

1997 TF 3.0 5sp man - 1416kg

Just out of interest, they have a 1997 TE 3.0 5sp man at 1416kg as well.

If you're looking off the Rego sticker they are approximate weights. My old TF had a TARE weight of 1280kg! lol It's not accurate

have a look at ur owner's manual.. it should be in there

auto gearboxes weigh more, but usually only about 30-40kg more.

its a family car who really cares bout an extra 100 kg really ?

Kerb weight is the exact amount, i dont now what TARE mass is

The kerb weight of my KS Touring wagon is 1633kg according to the owner manual and the auto weigths more....:shock:
