Hey all, I've been a 2nd and 3rd gen member for a while, but now I also have a 1st gen. My mate couldn't afford to keep his TP so he said i could have it if i pay for it to get picked up. I'm not sure exactly which model it is, it's maroon with factory gold mags. I detailed it two years ago and remember that the only damaged panel was LHR guard, but thats no big deal. Only has 190k on it and two years ago had $2k of work done to motor and hardly been used since. Already has a lukey sports exhaust and mp3 head unit etc.
All I have to do is get another water pump put in it and a new battery and it runs great.
Does anyone know how much a water pump would cost plus fitting?

try $33 for a brand genuine water pump (mitsubishi NOS)
And why arn't you making an offer for the TP instead of handing out advice Bill? :bowrofl:

If its maroon with gold mags(original) then it would probably be what was called the "Gold Leaf"Special. Would have gold pinstriping down the sides as well. A rare collectable......not.:D

Yeah it has the gold pinstripes as well. Another thing it has is the "magna famous" roof lining sagging. lol. Anyone know how much this costs to get fixed?

dam so u got given a gt:rant: and i paid 1400 for my ecex. dam i hate that , but thats what u get for living in far nrth qld. u could remove the lining from the car then pull off the sagging liner and re-glue it or replace it with another material like swede or somthing. u can buy the upolsery glue in a can im sure or spray it on with an paint gun.

That would be an interesting roof liner, I wouldn't think a vegetable would make a good roof liner but whatever floats your boat! Swede is a type of yellow turnip, suede is a type of leather which would much better suit :D

LOL
I might try the DIY roof liner fix first. If that fails, I heard car trim places do it for about $70. Not too bad really. I'll try and get pics of the car soon, but here's a pic I found in the Post Your Ride section, mine is same as this, just Maroon:

I can't wait to give this car a service, it's been a bit neglected, last oil change was about 2.5 years ago and it's only been driven about 500km since then. so it should be a good fixer-upper

Yeah thats the one. So u have seen it? Do u know what sort of work it needs? I know it's been sitting for at least 2 years so it badly needs a service and stuff. But I drove it a few times a couple of years ago and it was running spot on then.
I take it the GT's are fuel injected? I can't 100% remember

Ok I finally got home to start and drive this car.. sitting out at the farm it needs a clean something fierce, and a new r/h rear panel but she'll be a good car. Started first shot, no timing chain rattle and blew no smoke whatsoever.. pretty impressive as the car has only done about 150km in 3 years. Turns out the water pump is going fine too.. just needs possible new fuses as the wipers dont work.. maybe something else electrical there, also small noise in the driveline, and front shocks are dead. Thinking it should be on the road for no more than $500.
