mine did that not long ago....twice....both times after about a day it just went back to normal. Doesn't bother me that much because the fuel light works ona different circuit.

being in perth i will have to find the wreckers and get one sounds alo cheaper than going to mitsu themselves to do it so will give it a crack this coming weekend.

although getting one from the wreckers will be much cheaper, you may run into the same problem in a short time. I would get one from Mitsubishi, just in case the one you grab from a wrecker dies in a month.

I think Mitsubishi would replace it if a new one died, a wrecker wouldn't.

just wondering what constitute a recall? since so many magnas are afftected (just on amc and myself inc) i would think that this design fault definately got someting to do mmal instead of us.

Not sure man, Wreckers Magnawreck at Austin Av sometimes sell stuff a bit on the high side. But they are helpful enough to tell you sometimes you are better off buying from dealers as they sell parts bundled and not spereated. It all depends.

I recommend you to try southside mitsubishi parts center just to make an enquiry first then drive down to wreckers to see how much they offer.

Hope you get it sorted.

cheers!

this has been classified as a "known issue" (like the rear windscreen seal) which will be fixed under warranty (if applicable) but not until it breaks.

of course it's a design / manufacturing fault, but it would cost MMAL millions to issue a recall (TE - TW??), or they could just fix the ones that are still under warranty for much less.
