Anyone else here find there seats f$%^en uncomfortable?
my seats hurt my back so much i cant stand up strait for a few hours, on a long trip i'll spend the whole day in pain.
Prob my back's fault but it only happens after driving the TJ.............

I agree, the seats aren't the best for long drives. I find the narrow backrest the main issue and the uneven (wider on the door side) bolstering kind of forces you to sit inboard more. Plus I have the lumber support on the highest setting otherwise I get a sore lower back.
I think that apart from the Ralliarts, all of the seats are the same shape in the TE-TJ series.
More annoying than anything though for me is the non-telescopic adjusting steering wheel.

I drove from vic to qld and had no problems. I too need to have the lumber support on full too though.

Totally agree with you G-Money!
Love my TL, but it kills my back after every drive. The back of the seat is too narrow and there's way too much bolstering at the base. Lumbar support at any setting doesn't help either. Currently using a piece of foam cut to size and positioned along the back of the seat to bring me slightly forward so the bolstering doesn't dig in my back so much.
I had a Ford BA XT company car before I bought the TL and the seat in the BA was perfect. Not sure what I'm going to do now. . . Can it be modified or replaced? Any helpful replies appreciated!

i love the seats in my TL
so comfortable when driving, have taken it on a long drive and have had not back problems or anything
all my friends love sitting in the back seat they reckon its soo comfortable
I've got permanent back pain at the ripe old age of 18 and the TL is the only car I'm fine to drive so far. The back seats arent nearly as comfortable as commodores though.

How tall are you lot? If any of you with back pain from the seats are under 6' you might want to look to raising the front seats as they're a bit low set for people 5'7-5'11. I raised mine and the back pain is gone - and that's saying something considering that I actually have arthritis in the spine. Further pointless ranting here:

I dunno bout commo seats. My mates got a VS and I never feel like its holding me in much. The magna seats can become awkward on long drives but for normal day to day cruises They're champion

On tuesday i drove down south to Busselton (WA) from Perth and then back again on the Wed and i had no problems at all in my TL. Im 6'1 and have the lumbar support all the way in so its doing nothing, i find it extremely uncomfortable if i do. Was comfortable the whole way down and the whole way back up and was basically in one long sting of a drive, only getting out once for fuel on the way down and once on the way back for fuel and lunch.

Yeh, i agree that they are uncomfortable for long drives, try sydney to melbourne, back feels very sore. Just curious of how much aftermarket bucket seats would be, and something like recaro or momo...would they fit easyly? or not
i find my seats to be really comfy :P my old seats were over soft and vaused uncomfort on long drives, but the magna seats are really quite well made imo, it was a bit funny when i got the car, but with some playing, i got it feeling great. and ive done 450km trips in it :) (TE Exec)
