Does anyone have any info on increasing the bore and stroke of a 6G74 to 4 litres ?

I'd imagine a blown 4Litre 6G74 would be a real beast.

I dont think you could bore it out that far.. The walls would be a little thin surely?

I'm pretty sure the 3.5L is basically a stroked out 3.0L. So it would probably be a stretch to take it out to 4L. Don't quote me though.

RPW claim to have done "extensive cylinder" work on their TT magna. Might be worth talking to David about what options are available in terms of increasing the cubic capacity. Might be able to squeeze 3.8 out of them.

Some say a 3.5L is a bored out 3.0L lol
Yeh i would say it's not possible, would be alot more reliable to just get a custom block built, though i'd imagine that'd cost alot of these $$$.

I once talked to a bloke in melbourne who had the bits to make a s/c 3.65 l 6g74. Basically it used a 3.8 block with the 3.5 cranks and rods with 8.1:1 pistons. These were all bits from the engine plant close down.

As I mentioned in another recent post, do a search on google for 6G72 boring and stroking.
From memory, reading tech specs from magazines, the 6G74 was a bored and stroked 6G72
and the 6G75 is again a bored and stroked 6G74. Mitsu did this to save money and from
memory, 3.8 litres is pretty much the limit of the 6G72 block.

6G72 is a shorter block than a 6G74, by 18mm. In america they all talk about a 4.5lt stroker kit, but I still havent seen anything in production yet, heard prices of $7000 US for the kit though

If you where to bore and stroke a 6G72 it would only go out to 3.3 litres. As mentioned the block is a different casting, with the 6G74 being slightly taller.
