Man, get this, if you are using an old CD player no matter from where or what, especially stock ones, dont burn your CD more than 4X if possible. Even 4X they may jump sometimes.

All newer mp3 players can burn at much higher speed.

Applies to DVDs to old DVD players, you burn at 2X if needed.

I don't think that burn speed is the only variable in this problem. I burn CD's at 8x, no problem. I did have problems with CD's that were translucent (getting to nearly tranparent). When I went to opaque CD's the problems went away (in both factory and aftermarket head units).

Hold the CD up to the light. Put your finger on the non-visible side of the CD. Move your finger over the surface. Looking through the CD, can you see your finger moving? Get a CD that you can't see your finger through (buy another type), try that CD.

It will not play mp3 if its not stated to do so.

What people do is convert their MP3 into a normal audio CD. This can be done if you have Roxio or Nero software. I still insist on burning slower speeds for older players, be my guest if you want to burn faster, is your blanks not mine and no harm trying anyway.

Cheers!
