Hi all,
so today i brought my car in to get a re-gas for the aircon.
2 hours later i get a call from them saying that theres a problem, my car wont start.
the guys saying it could possibly be a problem with the fuel pump, coz he said he sprayed 'aero spray' (?) and it seems to work.
i guess i'm gonna have to take his word on his suspicions that it's the fuel pump. but i wanna ask, is it gonna be costly? i fear that it will be
btw its a 97 TF
this car has given me soooo many troubles...... : not starting, engine cutting out, not starting, and not starting again......
any advice or words or wisdom?

Aerostart is an ether based spray. If you spray in into the intake while cranking the car will run on it.
Given your description of previous problems and what this guy has said you either have a fuel line/filter blockage, a pressure regulator problem or a dead fuel pump.
All three are an easy fix that you can do yurself.
As to the cost, do some ringing around to mitsu and places like autobarn etc to get the cheapest deal.
If yur gunna change the pump ya mite as well do the filter while yur at it.:D

If its anything like the Lancers (I think mits used the same wiring accross the range), then you can just drop in a walbro 255L pump. Pay anywhere from $160 to 220, but make sure its genuine. rip your back seat out, depressureise your fuel system, then open the inspection hatch. If its like the 4g64 magna, the pump should just be sitting there. And you can swap it over yourself. 30 mins of your time.

Yep - RPW sell the walbro and a bosch pump, both with mounting kits.
The bosch pump doesn't flow as much as the walbro, but the walbro is overkill and noisy. The bosch pump is OEM for almost every EFI car made :)
