Hi all

I was considering buying a Ralliart Magna (Tippy). It would replace our trusty KJ Verada. But I was wondering how they stack up as an everyday family car?

In particular, what is the ride like? Does it tram line? Is reversing a prob with the rear spoiler? Is it relatively quiet (I am coming out of verada remember). Is insurance much dearer than a standard magna. I ask all this because my wife would need to drive it everyday and it would have to haul the tribe to school everyday, go shopping etc. To me, it is the ultimate but I can't compromise on everyday practicality.

So, could Ralliart owners share their experiences?

Thanks

what is the ride like? Are you kidding? It's beautiful!
On a serious note, you would be best off taking one for a test drive, it's the only way to decide if its for you.
I've never had a problem reverse parking, but when you first start driving one, the spoiler will keep catching your eye in the mirror and also when changing lanes.

I know for a fact if left stock, the exhaust is very quiet. To the point where, when Mel started to first drive the car, she used to rev it a tad high because she wasn't used to how quiet it was.

Insurance would be too hard to say, as you would know, it can vary depending on where you live, so you would need to ring and get a quote.

It's not a car that I like to take to shopping centres, but then again, I only like parking it in the garage at home, as many people on here can testify. lol

Once again, take one for a test drive.

yeah a ralliart is a very nice car to drive, would be just like the verada bit more power, reversing should be fine, for such a bit wing its doesn't get in your way as you can see under and over it. but yeah go drive one see what you think

mines for sale :)

fantastic cars.. ive been really happy with mine and if i dont get what i want for it, then ill happily keep it..

only fault is that the front is too low if you have the bottom splitter on it.. other than that, i think they are nice cars..

it is a great everyday family car. ride feels good and good handling and good performance. reverse is fine...u'll get used to it. first time i test drove it, i looked in the side mirrors and thought something was chasing me...oops it was the rear spoiler. front is a bit low so have to be careful with side kerbs, driveways......speed bumps not an issue unless u lower the car.
insurance can vary. i'm 26, live in rural, car is garaged.....full comp premium around $480 for me.

I'll pretty much echo what the others have said. Great car, fantastic ride (Koni red shocks) Plenty of grunt. My Ralliart will be our family car in a couple years. Look at my sig to see what Bain thinks of them too.

Wouldn't trade mine for the world, fantastic car!

Though I do wish the following:
- That they kept the recaro seats from the concept car
- That they had brembo brakes from the evo
- That it was AWD (single biggest let down)
- That it had more power standard 200kW+ @ wheels would've been nice
- That the manual gear shifter had a shorter throw standard, that 1st-2nd gear change is a biatch even with good quality gear oil.

Bain's testimony sounds riddled with sarcasm... but I may have misconstrued that as I haven't seen the original context it was used in. I want me a Ralliart now, maybe later... in like... 5 years lol

Bain's just jealous cause he drives a Ford. If I drove a Ford everyday I'd be depressed too. lol
