I have searched and all I can find is info regarding the cable boot releases. I have a TR Elite and it has a button type electric boot release. The button does nothing and I was wondering if there was a fuse somewhere for it (nothing in the manual or in Haynes).
Also when I press on on the main switch for the cruise control the orange (assuming it's orange) light doesn't come on and I can't use cruise control, I checked the fuse today and it was fine but I still changed it just cos I had spares and i still didn't work.
Help appreciated :D

if as you say all the fuses are fine, then i would be looking at the boot release solinoid
if you can get someone to press the button while you are out the back if your multimeter see if there is anything getting to the solinoid? if so then a new one should help (wouldn't think that they would be to much from a wreckers)
as for the cruise problems, check the switches themselves, then move along the system, worst come to worse would go and get a whole new cruise unit from the wreckers as well, if the light is just blown and the cruise still isn't engaging then it could be cruise unit under the bonnet.
hope this helps

Electric boot release and cruise are on the same fuse.. Check fuses again.. Also you mayhave lost interior light too..:)

Interior light still works. Cruise controll fuse has been changed already, still no go. Will try another fuse, if it no a go go then I'll be back.

I had problems with my cruiise control. At the same time I also had problems with the idle speed motor. After replacing the ISM, the Cruise Control worked, and continues to work. I have a Magna TS V6 Advance.
Can't help you with the boot release.

Well I do suspect my car of having a busted ISC because it has massive drops in revs depending in what is switched on, but I should still be able to switch the main switch on so the light appears.

My cruise control light on the dashboard did not light up. I believe the ISC and the Cruise control work together. If you can solve the ISC problem, I think the cruise control problem will also be solved. Its too much of a coincidence that now you have mentioned about having trouble with the ISC and the cruise control does not work..
