Hey,
I know these mods are not much compared to what some have done but i thought i would show you the progress as i go along in this thread.
This weekend i fitted a ralliart wing, sports trim and power windows into my 96 TE. I dont think i will be doing power windows in a hurry again they are a pain in the butt.

Here are some pictures with the wing unsprayed. it will be sprayed late next week.

May I ask if thats going to be the following list of mods, why you didnt just buy a TJ and mod from there? I would have thought the cost would be the same and less of a hassle.

Nice job on the ralliart wing.

Man looking good... good luck with the engine conversion and all that... look for a Ralliart engine instead :P Wishful thinking perhaps... You need some carbon fibre taillights, they'd look ace.

Sheepskin seatcovers too :P

The price really depends on what type of paint you want (metallic, gloss, camelion, pearl, etc)
I would of thought around $3000 aswell for a decent job.

I got them from a wrecking yard in campbelltown. My suggestions is ring around wrecking yards as mitsubishi want $1400 for their genuine kit. A lot of the time wrecking yards offer six months warranty on parts.

I think that colour would look nice n different on a magna, even a set of 19"ish White wheels would set it off aswell imo, might b rice to some ppl but who gives a flying F***.
Good job on the installs mate and goodluck with the future mods :)

Can I just ask, was the VRX dash a straight plug in deal. TE's don't come with digital odo, does the odo work? Could you possibly get it configured by VDO, to match the k's on your analogue dash?

The Series 2 TJ VRX is a digital dash, Series 1 is analogue and it plugs right in exactly. The only thing id P R N D 3 2 1 only light up in the gear indicator lights, 4 5 dont due to TE's not being tiptronic.
I Rang the RTA about the odo. You can get it adjusted by a professional OR you can write the original Km's in permanent marker on the back of the new cluster and record it in the car manual where you find your VIN, rego numbers, so as when you sell it you work out the difference between KM

hey mate..

i've got a friend that wants to do the power window conversion. how hard is it to do? Whats involved with the wiring and so on?

nice work mate, but why dont you just sell it and buy a newer magna that allready has power windows, 3.5L engine, and a 5sp tippy? if you didnt want to sell it. arnt you better off spending the money on aftermarket mods? making the 3.0L faster, you dont have to spend a lot to make a 3.0L faster than the 3.5, sorry im not tring to shut you down or anyhthing, just thought i would add some constructive critism

Its not really that hard in a magna if its an official mitsu power window kit. Its just a matter of unplugging the current wiring loom that goes through your door, putting the power window bracket on the window and bolting it back in. After that you plug your new loom into where the old one came out. Be aware though.... if you buy a mitsu kit you will need to buy the switches, switch surrounds and a new door trim that supports power windows as they are a different shape.

Good question.. Like the car, want to mod myself as it feels like i accomplished a big task and feel rewarded.
The reason i want the 3.5 ltr engine is not to make it goe faster but for the sake of having a newer engine, my engine is 11 years old now and starting to leak oil slowly etc just the usual... and the newer engines 2002, 2003 etc are all 3.5ltr's.

But thanks for the advise i can see where your coming from.

I purchase the TJ 02 sports interior which came with seats and door trims only. What i then did was bought a complete power window kit from franks at campbelltown. i didnt buy the doors, just the switches, motors and all necessary cabling.

You can buy all the doors and swap yes as they all have the same plugs for the power windows in the main console BUT...... then you would be up for say, maybe $150 per door not to mention finding them in the same colour etc... works out to be much more painful.

When doing the windows allow for half a day install and by yourself one of those handy Mcgregories Auto books for the magna so you know where the wiring points are

Hi Guys,
Car is painted. I painted it at home with the help of my friends father, who used to be a car spray painter.
I painted it brilliant white. I know it sounds plain at the moment but once i put some blue stripes down the sides and some decals it should look really good.
The picture below is the car but it has not been cut back and polished yet so it too shiny atm.

http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q51/brycehf/carpainted.jpg

I got a KJ GTVI 3.5ltr engine with 70,000km on clock being put in on monday. I also need to put the side skirts and wheel flares on yet.
