My interior light needs replacing. How do I remove the cover? I did a search and I think someone mentioned using a screwdriver, but I was wondering if there was any knack to it.... for some reason I can see myself breaking the cover lol Also, what kind of bulb do I replace it with?

Cheers

seperate the 2 pieces of the sliding bit with a small flat screwdriver. try to get the cover without lifting the sliding bit cuz as said u'll lose the ball bearings. if they move out of place just undo the 2 screws and take the whole light out and flip and replace them.

just presses back into place after... take the old globe out and take it with u to buy new 1. i tried 3 places with 3 different books and got 3 diff globes be4 i spat it and took the old 1 to compare. mine was a 31mm 8W festoon.

Just pry it off with your fingers/thumb on the drivers side (it simply snaps off) and then push the globe out with one finger. Nothing will fall down from the roof except these two items. Not sure on the type of globe (it's cylinder shaped with two metal pointy ends:confused: ) but I suggest taking the blown one into the auto store so you get the correct replacement.

Hmm, like Billy Mason said just pry it off with your fingernails. Grab the light cover length wise and squeeze gently. Cover should pop out easily. Make sure you check the light bulb first and the fuse also.

Wifey's Magna interior light was not working and it was not the bulb as I had change it three times and even used mine to check. Then decided to check the fuses to see if that might be the problem and it was.

As below. It is pretty easy to get off really and once changed it just pops back on. I replaced mine with a flashing multi-coloured one a while back . BIG mistake, it's so dull and slow to change colour, you can't see anything in the car when it's on. Can't remember what type of bulb too unfortunately but just take your old one to supercheap or repco etc. and they will sort you out.
