Would anyone wanna take a guess at this or do you know what the pre load should be? should there even be any?
I've just put mine on last night without putting any preload in the brace, but just bolted it down firm and made sure there was no gaps.
what do ppl do to their braces?
only very slight difference in turns, it doesn't roll as much.

There should be NO preload on the brace. Undo the plate>bar mounting bolts and remove your strut tower bolts. Sit the bar across the struts on the bolts loosely but don't tighten anything, just to get the length of the bar adjustment right.
Tighten the strut tower bolts and then finally the plate>bar bolts. There should be no tension on the bar prior to doing up the allen bolts.
The car will load the bar when you drive the car; if you preload it you are already stressing it and reducing its ability to perform. A strut brace is also going to have a neglible effect on body roll; that's what a lower strut bar aka swaybar is for. Strut braces only assist in holding your wheel alignment through corners.
