I'd been thinking the ISC was a bit suss already, but in the last few days (since the car got a proper tune), it has been more noticeable. With aircon on, it is prone to stalling when slowing to a stop or stationary, which it had been *very* close to doing previously but not quite.
Anyway, Repco can do an ISC for $112, but the eBay one is only $97 including postage. It doesn't seem like too big a job, from what others have said on here. Otherwise, the car is running great! :)

I got one for a hundred dollars at a local parts place a few months ago. It's trivial job to fit one. It didn't fix my problem however. I suspect the computer as all other components check out.

Forgive the fact that i know jack ****, but this is the exact problem that i'm having.
As a temporary fix to keep the revs up a mate of mine tightened the idle speed with a screw driver but said that a better fix would be to get a mechanic to clean out my throttle body.
Any truth to that?

these symptoms are what i had before it completely failed and then it reved at 1800 to 2000 idle at the lights. mitsu diagnosed my prob for me. TR 3000 might be wise asking them because they check the ecu with the diagnostic computer. was 250 installed by mitsu with the added bonus of warrenty

If you do a search on 'ISC' you will find some great threads about both the problems others have had with their ISCs, and how to fix it. It does seem like a pretty straightforward job, from what I can tell. The ISC is otherwise known as the "Idle Speed Controller", which of course tells you why it causes idling problems when it is stuffed...
Upping the idle speed might be a temporary fix, but there is no solution like an ACTUAL solution! :)
The eBay link has been posted before, but here is one for the current auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=001&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=110066673399&rd=1&rd=1
As a general note for anyone who comes along and reads this down the track some time, the link should still work. It is a Buy It Now option, which is usually just re-listed at the end of the auction period. So the link will (should) still work for the new listing also. And if there are any problems, it's dead easy to find it just by searching on "Idle Speed Controller". Or if you put it in your watched items list, it will automatically refresh with current details when it is re-listed.
