2.6tr auto, after replacing the ISC cause the old one was dead, took it in to mitsubishi and had the idle adjusted. that handheld device that they normally use wasnt working the way it was supposed to be so they set the TPS to normal by hand and adjusted the revs to what i wanted them to be (sitting between 750-800RPM at operating temp). now, the car used to start at higher revs before new ISC and then drop down to normal, now it starts at about 500 and crawls its way up to 1000 when cold and in park. is there an issue or maybe a way to adjust that to how it used to be?
thanks
Alex

The TPS is very hard to set by hand only because you need it to be in exactly the right position. Not sure exactly how to do it but they have put it on the wrong way.

when u say they set it buy hand do u mean they turned the idle screw. if so even the manual stats not to do that. u need a muiltmeter to do it properly and im sure they have a few of them . cos u need a base idle aswell as for cold and hot starts. if uve got a muiltimeter or a mate who has one u should be able to set it ur self off the pins. the manual tells u all about this:D

i did what haynes told me to do and it seemed okay but was totally out to what it should be. i think haynes got it wrong. cause to set it right youve got to bridge pins or something to make the tps reset or something. main service guy at local mitsu who im friends with said this.

u don't bridge pins u test there resistance and adjust them not reset them. i did it with my gregories and it's spot on, so u must have missed a step or not did quite right. the mitsu guy musn't be too bright then:nuts: :D also the second manual i have is a haynes for the model before (still auto astron like urs) and it's alomost 100% the same procedure just written alittle different. did u use a muiltimeter or did u get the guy from mitsu to do it and ur just going off what he said instead of doimg it ur self??
