Boot seems to be rattling a lot

Problem is, it seems the hole boot is moving from the subs.

Any common fixes for this? Or is it a case of "dynamat, expanding foam etc"

only thing you can do is to sound deaden the boot lid and maybe even the parcel shelf
best stuff to use is dynamat or stinger roadkill

does the lid move in and out when the subs hit, kinda like the boot is breathing. cause mine does that so i put 2 layers of dynamat extreme on every surface i could stick it on, and here a good tip locktite the boot garnish nuts and the nuts that attach the lower part of the boot lid, and i have found if you use some thin weather strip around the back of your licenece plate n betweeen the lower plastic part of the boot lid works well in stoping vibrations

I hear if you tighten the lock on the boot, it reduces rattles? not sure if its true?

Also put some double sided tape under your number plate. My number plate used to rattle like a bastard.

yeah number plate is the 1st place to look, then the plastic decor panel.

other than that, magna boots are reasonably rattle-free. now i just get a weird high-pitched squeaking/vibrating noise.... can't really explain it, but its no where near as noticable now

Mynez rattles hardley at all, with the 6x9's cranked up, mainly the plate at the back, can't wait to get my new sub in. BTW if anyone here would have some extra time on their hands, and wants to help me install my sub n amp, i would be more than happy to accept, lol.

Thats why your boot dont rattle.... YET, you dont have a sub pounding in the back, as soon as you put one in you will get the rattles...

I have discovered its the plates beneath the spare tyre well.

Any good car sound specialists should be able to either order some in for you, or find you some from somewhere around your area.

I know that my local Gold Coast Car Sound (Tweed Heads) and Autobarn can order some in, so any similar places should be able to as well :)

2 things are sure fixes:

1. Get some thing rubber and cut it to the shape of your number plate and screw it in tightly behind it.

2. If you have boot rattle but generally good seals on your boot lid, open the boot and tighten your actual boot lid hinges. I have done this on my car and many more cars - generally it is a generic kind of thing and is easy to do. All it does is causes your boot to shut a little bit tighter - if the seals are good (like bran new) then there will be no issues, if they are old and flakey - then you will cut their lifespan. New ones will adapt to the new shape/pressure.

Another option is to turn you music down a smidgen.
