I have a 97 Accord 2.2l Automatic sitting on 365,000 kms. Its very high and we use it regularly. Today i drove it over 120 km/h and there was a quite loud roaring coming from it. I was wondering if the engine is getting too old.

When do we usually rebuild the thing? or replace it? I don't know anything about these stuff. Just read it somewhere. I believe I have a F22B1 engine in that car. Whenever the car is due for a service, the oil level gets pretty low and it looks kinda frightening.

u should be checking ur oil level alot more regularly than 5000k's  specially if its burning it!

A cheap rebuild is usually that - they don't last. I've seen rebuilt engines last 50,000K before dying a horrible death (bearing clearances were excessive - they linished the crankshaft and used standard bearings  )

You might be better off if you plan to hold onto the car for a while finding a low klm used engine, doing a compression test and having a look at the oil/plugs/water before buying.
