Hey
Bout a week ago my TF developed a really crap misfire, almost made the car undriveable. Took it to a mech and he said the dizzy cap had blown causing the thing to send out sparks anywhere instead of 1-2-3-4-5-6. So new dizzy cap, rotor button and spark plugs. Problem solved.

But just in the last week I noticed its coming back only the weird thing is when the engine has gone cold and I start it up it runs fine no probs but as soon as I drive it around for a bit and the engine heats up it starts to mis again. First in 1-2000rpm when under load then it gets worse. If I keep it in low gears at high revs (cruising around at 2500rpm) its not bad but every time I stop and need to take off again I pretty much have to race start it by revving out to 2000 to move it without it missfiring.

But turn the car off and leave it for abit and it is fine. Any ideas?

might wanna check the gaps between the spark plugs and the spark plugs themselves
there might be a faulty lead aswell

i had the same problem wheni first got my car, got it fixed and it went away. i noticed there were a few more misfires on random occasions but they just stopped after a while

My brother had the same problem under load with his 3.0 KS.

We tried a bottle of injector cleaner, after that we tried new spark plugs and leads.

Turns out 2 of the leads were crap. :)

Cheers, I'll try some new leads. Im pretty sure its not the injectors. My old TR had clogged injectors and this feels different.

The only thing I still can't figure is why it only starts to miss once the engine is hot. Early in the morning its fine but after a bit of driving when the themostat hits the just under half-way point it starts to have a tantrum in the 1-2000 range.

Probably only happens when hot cause things expand with heat. Definetley sounds like leads. Resistance values within leads probably change due to the heat generated by your engine. More than likeley you will find the leads will fix the problem.

had the same thing, one of the spark plugs was dead (almost new plugs too). decided that rotor, dizzy cap and leads needed a change too, so i tried cooler plugs and new leads cap and rotor, not a problem since.

Alright cheer, anyone know how much a decent set of leads costs?

You can get a set of TopGun leads for $126.00 from Mitsu, seems these are the standard now!!
