As the title says im getting a clunk sound on occasions when i start up my car and its starting to get on my nerves any ideas what it could be.

yeah mate mine seems to be making a clunking sound, i think mine might be the airconditioning kicking in when i start the car. Its hard to explain what mine sounds like, its kinda like a grinding, clunky noise. But is only like realy quick.

You'll need to give a bit more detailed description.

How soon after startup does it happen? Does it happen when the engine is hot and cold; or only under certain conditions? Does it sound very metallic, or a dull heavy thump?

it sounds metalic but just on certain occasions dosnt matter what the weather is

i get an occassional metallic rattle/ticking when i have my air con on, only heard it in the last month or so since it been getting warm and i have turned on the air con. but otherwise its fine no noise when the air con is off and the noise cuts out as soon as i turn off the air con as well
