Has anyone supercharged a Magna Ralliart auto? If so what has been the performance like 0-100 kms, 400m, etc. What is it like to drive daily? What kws has been generated from motor. My logic is if standart kit on VRX (no mods to exhaust etc) produces 230kws from supercharging, then Ralliart should be maybe 250kws? Has there been any problems (overheating, something breaking, etc). Finally what happens re insurance policy and extra cost when declared. Any comment appreciated.David S (White Ralliart owner)

search and you will find all about the sprintex kit and it's pro's and cons...
but you will find i difficult to find figures on it in regards to 1/4 and 0-100
as being a daily driver no problems there, no worries with reliability at all, i have a s/c awd and it's all good except for the tune of the kit....
performance well an auto stock s/c vrx did the 1/4 in 14.45 now in a ralliart with decent traction i'd guess at prety much the same time maybe a 14.30...
the only downside to the ralliart being s/c that i can see is the ralliart has a higher compression ratio and is more likely to suffer on a hot day as opposed to a regular magna... in saying that though i've driven mine hard in traffic fully loaded up steep hills with ths a/c on on a 40deg day and the needle never moved from where it always sits...
my performance is sooo random i have timed a 0-100 in 6.4 twice and usualy low-mid 7's and sometimes it does it in mid 9's
the tune is just ***kkkked up lol but that getting fixed soon...
i'd say do it, once mine is sorted with the cstom tune its going to be so dam worth it :D even now it's awesome (sometimes) lol

Thanks for the information. Why is your supercharged Magna so difficult to tune? Does it require special tuning or can the dealer do it? I thought the 1/4 mile times might have been a bit quicker than say circa 14.4 - but suppose that is reasonable because can't really get away as fast as a manual off the line.

To keep your warranty sprintex are the only people that are allowed to play with your tune, some S/c'ed members are replacing their ECU's (and the piggy back ECU that sprintex install) with a complete new set up.

and is that when the warranty is void?
how can the installing workshop let the car go out when it isn't running well?

So what are the problems caused by the piggyback ECU provided by Sprintex? I thought this would have been sorted out by now after the number of kits fitted. Also if they are going to fit to the new 380 (see article in the paper last week), then they are going to be in for big problems.

Even VRX's dont like hot days... Phil and I were heading down to Mandurah last saturday and i left him for dead from a standing start and form rolling 100km start. he just couldnt keep up.
He's got a SPRINTEX charged Manual VR-X
I've got a N/A TH 3.5 Auto
So heat has a BIG effect on these kits. Normally he just pulls away but this was a very different story... and one i will never let him forget hahaha

Based on that, I think I will stay with what I have - non supercharged. I see there is a supercharged Ralliart for sale in todays West Australian paper. Wonder why he is selling it - maybe because of the above.
How do you know what number Ralliart build? Is it stamped on the car somewhere. Mine is a 2003, so maybe one of the last ones built. I have been very pleased with it so far and feels a bit quicker than the TJ VRX I had previously.Certainly better to drive, although I also really liked the VRX. Had a new bottom end fitted under warranty just after I bought it about 12 months ago (at 35,000kms), so now basically a new engine. David S

the heat thing isnt that bad,
on a 40deg day with the aircon on and loaded up s/c'd still goes faster than when it wasnt on a nice cold night...
but the tune of the kit sux, and to get the most out of it eg cutom tune etc... voids the warranty so its a funny one there...
being auto i would go for some forced induction if i was you, or..... manual conversion and some cam/headwork and you'll go just as fast for the same $$$
one thing to note about the sprintex kit not going.... i was getting dragged of by rusty smokey auto camiras untill 40km/h untill i found out that there was a tiny hole in a air hose, 1 sec fix and it flew after that....
micjay also had a problem with a small vac hose, his car was going slow as untill the hose was plugged back in and then vrooooommm again...
so daily checks are needed pretty much to make sure all is as it should be

it wont be a problem for them to fit to the new TMR 380 as it is only one model with one set of mods. ATM they are trying to fit one kit to many many different models with different modifications. I honestly reckon all their ecu does it open and close the extra injector when on boost.
Mate get the kit if there are any left. It will transform your car

adding; i'd say mitsubishi engineers would be doing the tuning too...

If you have a Ralliart there will be a stickers with the build number in front of the radiator, unless it's had front end damage and is no longer there.
I'm sorry??, you say your Ralliart has had a new bottom end fitted at 35.000km!!! Do you know how much you would have to punish one of these engines to total the bottom end??
I agree with you regarding your first comment. I wouldn't supercharge your engine either if it's had such a brutal life.

the s/c ralliart in perth, if its the one i'm thinking of (red, duncraig area) has been around for a few years, so its nothin spesh that the owner wants to get rid of it, probably has had a good run now wants something different?
it also seems that most ppl who deal with sprintex direct in perth get the better installs, which makes sense i guess! so theres a lil piece of mind i guess
oh and best not to think of resale possibilities...ralliart is bad enuff, try selling a s/c ralliart for over 20k :P
