Hello everyone,

I'm not that good with the technical stuff of a car...i still only have a rough idea of wat torque is.

And i was confused and suprised to find out that an Air Box is different to an MAS sensor :( .

Can someone please explain the difference between the two, what they do, etc And why you hook up CAI to the Air Box and a Filter to the MAS sensor.

Danke (means thanks in Deutsche [German] 8) )

far as i can fathom, the airbox contains the filter which contains the mass air sensor.

CAI goes to the airbox so it then goes throught the filter. The air passes through the filter then through the MAS so the computer knows how much air is going into the engine to adjust the fuel amount etc. The the air goes to the throttle butterfly, and then into the engine.

Hope this helps (hope im right)

yep pretty much. the airbox holds the filter and the mas bolts onto the airbox. the air goes into the box, passes through the filter then into the mas. to do cai you can either run better piping or air feed into the air box or get a pod filter, scrap the airbox completely and run your own custom cai to the pod. cheers.

Is that what Blake from Aussie Magna did because it looks like the ducting is connected to the airbox and the filter is conncted to the MAS

ok in a normal setup the mas attatches to your airbox which holds the filter. when you get a pod it bolts straight to the mas. you can keep the airbox cap as a sort of heatsheild/cai which is what blake has done but you dont have to. or you can go custom cai with your own heatsheilding/pod cover.
