You can pick them up on Ebay but it's probally easier to go to the mits dealer and get them new..around $70 i think.. anybody please correct me if i'm wrong.
When they fail its usually when your out in the middle of nowhere, raining, dark and keen to get home..

You can program it yourself. On the TJ + anyway. Turn the key to ACC, then off, three times. Then hazards come on for a sec, and you press the remote botton. The lights flash, then repeat the process for all other remotes. They must all be done at the same time. Also works when you change the battery in the remotes. Much better than paying mitsubishi to do it. Its the key you're screwed on. That requires a MUT2, only service centres have that. They charge $35 just to flash your key !
Well went to my local Mitsubishi dealer and purchased a new remote for $48.
Cost me $83 for a new key coded to the car from Mitsubishi as well, apparently $13 out of the $83 was charged for postage from Mitsubishi S.A.
You can program your remote to your car yourself.
Simply turn the ignition on and off 3 times, the third time leave the ignition switched on.
Both blinker indicator lights should flash together meaning the car is in programing mode.
Push one of the buttons on your remote and the indicator lights should flash on and off together if not try again.
Once you have done that turn off your ignition and exit the vehicle and try your remote ,if you have been successful you should be able to lock and unlock your car with your remote.:P

I purchased two button remote control for my TF V6 wagon at Mitsu. Werribee dealer in Melb for $58.80 inc GST and its black colour with a mat finish where my old one was smooth finish. Also Mitsu. Essendon sales them for $54inc GST but they didn't have them in stock when I needed. It's worth calling few Mitsu. dealers around coz price will be different.

I bought my remote in November last year. They quoted you $53 plus GST it comes to $58.30 so it’s how much I payed. But Essendon Mitsu was cheapest around for $54inc GST but the petrol you going to waste so at the end of the day only few bucks difference. I saw on the web site redbook about the TF V6 wagon specs and its quoted that comes with remote boot release, I don’t think that’s true, only sedans come with remote boot release but quote me if am wrong.

I'm not quite sure what you're saying, but I have a 97 TF V6 wagon and when I press the remote, the tailgate unlocks too.;)
