My new car jewelery. Figured the design was hard to miss with since they're basically the ralliart style. It fills out the read arches a helluva-lot better (sideways, the wagon looks like it's on stilts because the wheel is so far inset normally)

Got them on, them drove them home through the biggest storm I've seen in years, Hail and road washovers all included.
I know they're not 18s' but it carries a baby. And the lip on the driveway stops me from lowering it (it just scrapes if you let it fall off the lip)

Okay, it's a senseless bumpity, but I've got some *not squished up the side of the driveway* shots.

One of the shots is a rear-wheel-well photo, because one of the main things I wanted to know is how much better the new wheels would fill out the wells sideways (The wagons in particular look awkward on standard wheels), and I couldn't find much on the forums to help me (It's probably there, I just suck at looking). These are 7.5's (with 235 rubber), and I reckon the engineers wanted to put this size on them, looks 'made to be'.
The car feels an awful lot more surefooted coming down the esses with the wider rubber (Photo's are on top of Mt Pan)
Same disclaimers as above apply, I think this thing would look mean lowered appropriately, but my driveway wont allow that, till then it's a pretend SUV
Is it just me or is the magna the sexiest looking affordable wagon in Oz.
Now that you can see it, whatchya think ?

/me contemplates the varying definitions of 'affordable' and feels less sure of his previous statement.

Looks good.
What difference did you find in ride quality ie hardness or softness over the 205 X 65 X 15"?
What tyre pressure are you running in the front and rear?
Cheers

It is a little harsher over in-town style bumps (potholes etc), but only a little, more an auditory change than anything that's conveyed to the bum. I'd be feeling rotten if they where alot harsher because of the bub, but they're still pretty pliable. Pressures are still at whatever the tyre place pumped them too, I won't be letting them get low, you notice with the lower profile that you have less wriggle room if you, for example, park on the side of those 45 degree gutters.
I've noticed there's a bit of a harmonic hum from the wheels, but I think it's more related to new tyres working themselves in.
Overall, I'm happy, big improvement in looks, much better grip, and only a very slight change in how she cruises over bumps.
It's probably a little noisier at highway speeds, but I can't say that I've noticed it, The drive home was a decent one (Orange -> Blayney -> Bathurst) which is a variety of sealed roads, and the only difference I really noticed was that it's more direct at changing directions, and an increased (probably imagined) feeling of surefootedness in the corners.

You are right ,Magna's are great wagons,Not too big (as Commodore & Falcon),but not too small (like Liberty or Mazda 6). I will probably lower mine with Lovels spring, but i will only go for 25 - 30 mm drop. Anything more is just cosmetic ,super low look with no benefit in handling. New VE Commodore wagon will be more sporty euro style wagon and with optional 6.0L v8 it will probably be the one to aim for.
