Exact setup. I've got falken tyres on them too, they're a 300 treadwear - pretty soft. I've done 20000kms on them including a very small amount of occasional wheelspin (negligible) and I'd say they're not even half worn out.

The car is lowered 30mm on king springs too, there's not a hint of any wear on the inside of the tyres from the tiny bit of negative camber. I'm running 40psi in the front and 35 in the back, any more and the back feels very skittish over bumps and I've actually had the tail step out when the roads were greasy in the wet.

In the dry the tyres stick like **** to a blanket. When I really drive it hard you can see the extra 1cm or so of contact around the sidewall of the tyre, if you drove like a tarmac rally every day you'd chew the outside tread block off the tyres in a week.

However under normal driving they're wearing very well.

Blah blah whinge friendly reminder 17 x 7 rims with 235/45R17 are technically illegal blah blah blah broken record rant etc et al. Nobody else cares, except your insurance assessor rant etc, can't be bothered arguing this anymore.

Cheers!

wat makes them illegal
Max width for a 7 inch width rim is 225.

read this thread from page 2 onwards: http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37328&page=2&highlight=tyre+sizes

Their made illegal by the tyre fitment handbook - I doubt the RTA would pick up on the tyres for a defect, however your insurer probably would (and void your insurance) if you just cleaned up a BMW 7 series

do 17x8 with a 35 offset fit?

im going to get some advanti vienna rims but the 225 tyres are exe. the 235 are a lot cheeper in the long run so im leaning towards them.

i can get the 17x7 rims for $230 each and 235/45/17 for $145 each

yay will be getting new wheels fitted tomorow will post a pic when done
also going to drop the front 30mm so the magna doesnt have the invisable caravan look
should sit nice and level when done.

King low SPs all around, the back doesnt quite drop 30mm so it sits level and handles nicely, I can only scrape in one place, my 60 year old driveway.
