put it this way it was designed to run on leaded petrol. so if u run it on unleaded with no additive u will evetually (bs) kill it. unleaded engines need a higher compression rate to burn it off properly. so i wouldn't forget the additve, it's kind of comon sense really. sure u can run it on only unleaded but in a few months u'll be up for another engine. all for the sake of being lazy/ or a tight ass:nuts:
but it's up to u . or save a few hunderd and buy a tp engine and all the fuel lines etc etc(parts car) and change it to unleaded efi. find a really rusty one that someone wants to get rid of and swap it over. or just buy the additive:D
check the M stamp of the head, if its not M1, then it's not the original head.
i'd put unleaded in anyways... when i got my car, i always put unleaded in it, even though its a leaded model.... valves seats can cop it.

I had a leaded TM Magna and I ran it on unleaded without any problems whats so ever.
When unleaded fuel came out a few motors lost power because manufactures had to drop their compression ratios!

When i had my VB commie, I decided to start pouring Unleaded in it. A few months later, i blew BOTH the head gaskets (v8) I thought i would get the heads reconditioned but the guy told me that I needed a new set of heads cause they have been corroded.
not sure if it was because of the unleaded fuel though but i think it had something to do with it.

My sigma was a leaded car also i always fed it unleaded, leaded astron heads came with hardened valve seats it also mentioned in the handbook, the use of unleaded fuels in areas where no "super or similar is available" can be used with no detrimental effects.
