View Full Version : wireing harness connectors
i went into supercheap and they seem to have them rather cheap i saw them in repco for 25-30 bucks and in supercheap they are only 19.95 so get them while you can , saves you having to solder/wire :)

'd rather solder/wire my h/u in place....makes it harder for them little f**kers to steal (know from experience).
if it plugs in, they will have it gone in 30 seconds.....hard wired in takes more time as they have to cut all the wires before they can remove it
ooor they rip the wires out and **** it more.
ive seen that happen and they usually take out other crap while they are at it.
besides it almost makes it redundant to use an installer for the headunit you cant really screw it up.
for the beginners its a treat :)

You can still screw it up because from time to time manufacturers change wiring codes even within a series of production, so a one-size-fits-all doesn't always mean a failsafe solution. For that reason I never trust wiring charts in workshop manuals, I always double check manually just in case.

i hope they do, cause the last time i checked, the wire loom for my car (2002 CE Lancer) is worth about $1500....add to that the cost of the stereo setup in the car, and you would be looking at a $5000 claim
(everything in my car is insured)

Why put yourself through the hassle of having to replace one of the main wiring harnesses just for the hell of it? Even if you don't have to pay for it
