ok ok here is me dilemma i have just got a new amp (BOSS 4X250w) ok now i have hooked my Pioneer 1000w sub up to two ports and the other two to the 6X9's now im getting a screeching sound through the 6X9's and only them, i have pulled the RCA's out and run them trough the ash tray to the boot cos i thought that the RCA's where reacting with some thing electrical so now its still doin it..... BTW the head unit is brand new pioneer so that’s fine, could it be the amp or is it the wiring

if so how much to get new wiring put through my car

how high are your gains set?
try turning them down to see if that makes any difference

Sounds like your RCA's could be touching bare metal, make sure there's no splits in the cable.
Otherwise it could be a ground issue with the amp.

the gain is set to low as possable with the noise still going, as for the RCA's there fine, the earth is actually conected to the casin that hides the 6X9's it that a good place to put it ???????? so im up S*** creak with out a paddle here might have to get strath fields to look at it or liberate i think he is a car audio person ???????

as long as its touching bare metal it should be fine
always connect it to the floor of the boot with a metal thread screw

But have you tried changing the channels on the amp to see if it is the input or the output causing the noise>?

What model Boss amp is it? One of my mates has a 4ch that has an internal fan, that may be your problem. You can hear the noise of the fan through the speakers also...
