Over the past few weeks my Manual TJ Magna has been hesitating when I take off and just after changing gears. When I enter the take off or enter the gear the car will go to go and then just refuse to go and then all of a sudden it'll take off like a rocket.
Anyone experienced this sort of problem before?
It seems to happen more and more.
Cheers,
Nathan.

Has this happened since you last filled up with petrol ?
Could be fuel injectors need cleaning.

Could also just be some dodgey fuel.
Give her a service and see how she goes after.

I've tried different fuels, cleaner etc.
I'm gonna do the service in the coming week.

It sounds to me like the gearbox could be slipping. When you get the service done, get them to check that.

I've experienced a similar thing..........
I noticed it occurred more often if the engine is cold, and it feels like fuel starvation in so much as the engine actually looses power momentarily.
touch wood, it hasn't happened for a while.

I've noticed with my Tj auto. On The first decent acceleration from cold the car seems to be really holding back until 3000RPM on the nose as which point it seems to release and fire off like a rocket. Then it's fine, wont do it again for the rest of the drive.

My TH auto has a lil bit of trouble changing up a gear sometimes, it sits at 3000rpm’s for about 5 or so sec and then changes but this only happens sometimes and only when im going down hill
