I've just been noticing something weird when in 4th in my auto box on my 01 tj,

when just getting up to cruzing speed, eg 100k's and the car changes into 4th and the engine drops to about 2100rpm, it drives along for about 200m's then the rev's of the engine drop 300rpm, feeling neally like an overdrive and dropping into another gear again, but not. is this normal.

Don't be to stressed by it. Mines been doing that exact same thing for as long as I've had it. I figured it was just the ecu optimising the air/fuel ratio at set throttle (Cruising). Might be a symptom of an aging O2 sensor.:doubt:

Are you sure it's this low, cause you'd be pretty close to stalling.

think he means it drops 300rpm so if his cruzing at 2100rpm it will drop 300rpm so it will be 1800rpm

That'll be the torque convertor locking guys.:P
Its supposed to do that.
It unlocks again if you accellerate:D

It can't do any bad getting it serviced.
