Hey Guys

Just doing a lil stereo install and i have hooked everything up, now the wierdest thing is happening, my amp is connected to a sub, and i have hooked up all the wiring as shown, the thing is the sub and amp only powers on when the head unit is on "radio" not when its on standby or CD, i cant explain it, its the same gear as what i had in my old car, except the head unit, but even then its one of those cheap 199 dollar kenwood ones, and my old stereo was a kenwood also, but it was fine? Can some one help me out. And before anyone flames me i know i should use the search function but i didnt this one time.

Thanks in Advance to those who can shed some light on this

Cheers Shibbs.

mate you have connected the amp "remote" wire to the power antenna wire so whenever you turn on the radio it sends power the the arial in this case your amp. You need to change those wires over im pretty sure the blue wire with the white stripe is the remote wire or it might be the plain blue wire i havent done an install on a magna for a while use a multimeter if you have one.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Heath

EDIT: im 99.9999% sure this is your problem as i did the EXACT same thing on my very first install hehe

Hey guys thanks for the help, yep i figured that was the problem as soon as i went back to the head unit, the funny thing is i have connected it to the Blue wire AKA the antenna....on my old head unit this was the POWER cable...so obviously its been twisted on me, no biggie will just do the old switcheroo. Its all temporary anyways, until i get a better head unit, thought i would at least lay the wiring down anyways, then get my stereo componentry choices down from there.

Once again guys thanks for the help
