Ok ppl i have a few questions that are out of my Mitsubishi magna knowledge range

1) Which of the third gens first came out with AWD
2) Can u convert a TH FWD to a AWD
3) How much would it cost to do so ( i know it would be through the roof but what the hell hay)

Reason for asking in two or three years time would like to part from my lovely reliable TH to a AWD or a TJ VR-X, but if its worth it would love to keep the TH and just get it in AWD that would be fun :D

I think it was the TJ 11, that was first avaiable in awd guise,

No bloody cance in hell of converting to awd, unless you have a good 50g up ya sleeve, but u could buy 2 for that price,

They share a different floor plan, with the exhaust and fuel take being in different places.

I say it be near impossible, that all depends on how much money u wanna spend.

that much dam thats alot well i have never seen a TJ AWD for sale so around how much will it be for one cos im ether looking at geting one of them and getting a TJ VR-X kit and twin exhaust like i got now or just getting a TJ VR-X and getting twin exhaust put on it also...... because i dont want to spend any more money on my car now..... the love is gone :cry:

lol Yes but at the rate they're devalueing, I'd say one'll be able buy about 7 of them for $50g in 2 or 3 years time.

hypermagna, you're right there's not many on the market, however someone here just bought a TL AWD 2 weeks or so ago for 13g?

Buy a TL/TW AWD from the SA government auctions. They are going for ~$15000-16500. Less than 50K km on the clock too. Great buy. I bought my TJ AWD as the TJ's were running out from the rental companies. The TL AWD's then took over in the SA secondhand market ~1 1/2 years ago. Just dont see many now.

It is not an option to 'upgrade' any FWD to AWD. They have a different floor plan.
