.....
does anyone have a pic or know how the side airbags go on a 380? just wondering how much protection they offer. in the brochure it only shows the front bags. thanks again.
Not much different to the TL/TW ones. Its stored in the seat back outter sides and is
deployed forwards.
thanks vlad, but I was more interested to see how high they go, like if they offer any sort of head protection. I checked the mitsu site and the 380 brochures, normally they show them in the open position so u get an idea.
Its positioning is the same as that for the TL/TW, in the widest part of the side bolsters
and will only cover the door section, not the window section. See the attached pics of the
positions.
heres a pic of the BA falcon I got this pic from fordforums.com it shows how hi the side airbags go. like hi enough to protect the head area
No, if you've sat in a falcon, that would only be shoulder height.

The side airbags on the 380 are for chest/body protection. They dont deploy high enough to provide any side head inpact protection. You would be looking for curtain airbags for that. Sad to say it doesnt look like they will be in any 380 for a while yet.

The new 2007 Galants in the US comes with curtain airbags and someone mentioned that
series III 380 will have ESP and me thinks, it'll have curtain airbags as well.

Have heard curtains and esp for mid year update, plus some interior/exterior tweaks...........
Just hope they don't ditch the platinum package at this time, as it would be an even more awesome buy!!!!!

I'm pretty certain the Platinum Edition was a limited run only, made to boost sales at the time - though I could be wrong. But hey, I agree with you: it is very a good package!

Yes I read that in the 380 Update thread too. Somebody there said Mitsubishi will continue the Platinum Edition, which is kinda nice - but is it still a "limited edition" if they make more?

Continuing the platinum edition just mean in a different series. So its limited to that series.
Different series, different cars, how ever slight the differences.

Hopefully it'll be the new 'Solara' meaning that they'll do a run each year, or twice a year as they did with the Tj's.

Its also possible that what makes a 380 Platinum Series2 will become standard fit for the Series3 SX (except for the sunroof). Although I doubt Mitsi will change the price of the SX.
