hey all,
ive got a problem with my fan, when ever i start my car, and flick on the fan it takes a couple of minutes for it to start up, then when it does it is intermit...
Doe anyone what this is?

Not sure..that's strange...Is it on a heat setting? Is the aircon on when you do it..if so, is it on econ mode?

Dont see how those could affect the fan itself..but maybe someone has played with the wiring ?

It does it, no matter what setting its on, with a/c on or or off. is there a relay or something that could be playin up?

... Are you referring to the AC fan, or the cooling fan behind the radiator?? I'm not the best when it comes to car mechanics; but the radiator fan always comes on intermittantly to cool the radiator from behind... just a way engineers have fixed heat related problems...
I might be completely off the mark, but oh well.
If it's the AC fan you're referring to, i'd have it checked out... Nothing worse than having a dodgy AC in an Australian summer.

I'd assume it's the A/C fan you're talking about as you can't "flick on" the radiator fan..it's automatic.

it is perfectly normal - don't worry about it = the fans used in FWD cars are all thermal fans - which means they turn on when the water temp in the radiator gets to a certain temperature - and when it is cool enough they turn off - which is why they come on intermittenly - you may find they arent on while cruising up the freeway cos the airflow into the car is enough to cool the radiator - but when you are idling the fan kicks in to assist in the cooling process - all cars do it mate!!

Sorry for the confusion I am not talking about the thermo fans, Im talking about the fan which blows air into the cabin....

Thats what I thought, the cabin fan shouldnt be intermittent...I'd take it to an auto sparky...

Where do u live? If your near me I can recommend a place

ok - now that is weird!!

Sorry my bad - maybe an auto sparky is the best bloke to talk to - i spose it is prbably a loose wire somewhere?
