hey guys finally got my 13 inch tv put in last week
i also got my xbox moved to the back seat!finally!basically it is built it to the bak flip down,and small openings on both sides 1 for the cd tray and the controls and on the other side is a small hole for air to run through the fan(i think thats how it works?)(il be getting some mesh put over that soon to help stop dust from gettin in)anyways i didnt manage to get any progress pics cos i got some1 else to do the xbox install and i was too busy at the time tryin to install the tv!but i hope you enjoy the pics i have to offer

i also got a battery moniter installed so i can keep an eye on how low my battery is running ,from what i know if it drops below 11.6 thats when i should start up my car.
me and my mate did the tv install,it was a realy anoyin job to do,we use bout 5 meters of av cables running through the roof all the way into the dash and through the center console.
all up the xbox install was 160 bucks includeing the batery moniter
the tv was 260 bucks all up and delivered(ordered off ebay)
and the wireing materials cost roughly 50 bucks so all up just under 500 which is realy good and im happy with that

cheers dude:) yeah it can flip back up but theres kind of a bump in the middle but its hardly noticeable i just tuck the back seat cover over it to make it look neat,but i drive around wit the rest down so i can show off my xbox:D

They are a deep cycle and starting battery... you get the best of both worlds.

that xbox positiion would be a decent place for a carputer... hmm ;) nice install tho, dunno the legalities of a screen in the way of the rear view mirror tho, but i guess ur planning on keeping it closed while not driving :)

Yeh red tops are starter only batteries... they have pretty high CCA's.. like 750-800ish from memory.

imo i wouldnt bother getting an optima, good batteries may the be, theyve got a pretty big return rate, really crap terminals on them.

imo Osyddey are better value, as are Orbitals (Exide Yellow Tops in a sense) but if you really wanna get one, $350 is all itll cost for a D34 Yellow Top.

nice install now you need some head rest screens. Have you come across any heating issues with the xbox yet?

Id go the optima D34 yellowtop, im using one and i love it... You can get em from autobarn, only $300-$350 I know people that have had them through 10 years of abuse and never had any issues... Yes they will still go flat if you crank the stereo for hours on end really hard, but then jumpstart and they're good as new.

Odyssey I would steer clear of... have personally had bad experiences and have only heard bad things from many stores... Orbitals are aight... and you get extra terminals

when i had the xbox under the seat the converter beeped after about 30 minutes of playin xbox(this was on a sunny day btw) i havnt been useing the tv alot yet,cos i only got it in last weekend,anyways wen i had the xbox under the seat and it was at night the longest ive had it on for is about 1 hour and a half and it didnt even get hot!so yeah but if it does i can usualy tell the fan on the xbox makes a wierd noise haha.
now that the xbox is in the back seat and in a place where no sun can get too,im hopeing it wont overheat as much and its not under the seat gettin covered wit dust.

im planning on gettin some mesh(speaker mesh) put over that hole later on,my mate mods xboxes for a hobbie and said it should be alright as long as their is nuthin in the way of that hole,so yeah i hope that helps:)

hello every1,i hope the mods dont mind me posting in my old thread
well over the past few monthes of haveing my xbox,ive had lots of fun,but unfortunately im not happy with the look of it!
it doesnt look neat as i want it to be so im getting it re done! basically the orginal materials surounding the arm rest in the bak is getting stripped and getting retrimmed.
recently i just got a switch hooked up for my converter which is at the front near my steering wheel,so i dont have to reach underneath the front pasenger seat to switch on the converter so thats 1 other thing out the way.
the back arm rest is outa my car atm curently getting worked on,i should have it all back in by late next thursday il be sure to post more pics when its done!

how are the heating issues with it being in there ??

well the arm rest does get hot over a while,but my xbox has never shut off on me,the guys that are redoing this are stripping out most of the yellow foam you see in the pics,and may be replaceing some of it with smaller foam.

i managed to have a look at the progess of it today but didnt have time to get pictures!they have cut out most of the foam to let it breath beter,put some thin wooden boards along both sides,should be in by thursday il post some pics when its all in and finished:)

cos mynes to the 12v ciggy lighter at 150w and it drops out cos the voltage drops too much...

um its 300 watts,running through the accesories i think?il go check for you:)
edit:350 watts 240V OUTPUT AC (i have no idea wat the other jibberish says on the invertor)

and you never have problems dropping out when your in drive stopped for like 20 seconds :S

as for the wires you see in the pics,i was testing the converter at the time so pulled it out from under the seat,and my car is also a mess atm ,the materials surrounding the xbox was supose to be all black,but they didnt have any in stock at the time,but i wanted it done,but im realy happy with it,so thats all that matters,let me know your opinions cheers

xbox possie is great and unique but yeah.......as 4 the tv iunno just dosnt look great but i supose u cant really conceal a 13" tv so guess u didnt have much choice....its petty much te vibe of it lol...i think its the console i dont like.but yeah basilly the vibe of it abit ghetto...BUT if i were to do what uve done it would look 1/2 as good...it would look like i just put everything in a bucket of glue, closed my eyes and turfed the contents in to the car and hope for the best...so it aint actually that lame....:nuts: good work lol ............................my cat smells like cat food:nuts: weird
