Just got a quote for some king springs supalows ($89.99 a pair @mates rates) and have a few queries...
first of all,
are these the part numbers for supalows : KCFL-42SL (stated for the front) and KCRL-43 (Stated for the rear)
just wondering if anyone here has supalow coils fitted on the rear of their car.
also, how much lower will they be if i compress them, and if you have this mod, please post a pic as this is gonna be my next mod, and i wanna lower my car more than just a little bit.
My car is a TJ series 1 Advance,
thanks heaps

Kings dont manufacture SuperLows for the rear, that P/N is for Lows.
Thats what Ive been told anyway.
Ill be picking up my car 2moro with SL front and lows rear Ill post some pics if u want to see.

ok then that would be good.
i just think that having the lows on the rears and the supalows on the front would make it look as though it is sloping down towards the front and i think that looks ghey!!! well in my opinion anyway

Nah because the front wheel arch on the magna is bigger, so it will just look a lil more evened out.

those lows look almost superlow lol
maybe coz of the flares?
pic one is the 2007 cat for magna s/lows and there is no part number listed for a rear magna s/low. (taken from www.kingsprings.com.au site)
i went the s/low / low combo on my car and it really makes the car look more level (going by the wheel arches (see pic 2)
but now with the new front bar i've had to lift it back up to lows cos it was just causin to many probs.
anyway, good luck with it and you'll love the ook and ride once she's dropped.

Mate car looks hot. I just checked the kings website and there are two types of lows one for 45mm Application and one for 30mm Appliction. Which one did you use?

Nice car, but cant even see the rubber. hhahaha Its all just black in there.
However your ralliart sits lower than LOW springs. Shiet, it sits lower than mine with superlows. WTF???
Rear Low springs drop at around 30-35mm, however there are Verada lows also, which drop an additional 10mm. That's what i have in mine. Superlow in front.

I've got the same springs in my car, and I reckon the superlow/low combination is pretty good. It killed the horrible wheel arch gap anyhow, and that's all I wanted it to do. I don't have any problems with driveways or speed bumps... it's a pretty comfortable height really.
King DID make Super Low rears for a while... but due to some clearance issues, they stopped producing them. Something important was scraping on the ground... haha, can't remember what though.
One thing to remember though... generally on most cars, extractors sit fairly close to the ground... so if you're lowering you car with pacies, lookout. I know on my car, they're just about the lowest part of the car. I've almost got them stuck on a curb before... scary stuff.

If you look at the wheel arches, yeh it'll look level. But look at the overall car and it does look like it's slanting forward and i reckon it looks wierd also.
The part numbers you have been given are correct, they do not make super lows for the rear and they are lows.
FYI drops over exec height with king springs:
Superlows - 60mm
Lows - 45mm
Lows Sports (SP) - 30mm
If you go lower in the front, just remember that your car will oversteer more (maybe only slightly though, i couldn't tell you exactly how much).
Moparcm - looks good, but don't expect to be able to get up at least 50% of driveways out there. I had a splitter on mine with lows sp (so not even as low as yours) and my front bar lasted 3 days. I got rid of the splitter as it was just too low for me to drive comfortably.

I thought it was due to the spring being too short and they had problems with them coming loose?

why do ralliarts seem to sit lower with the same springs when compared to other magnas?? is it the koni's doing that???
i got my standard ralliart springs compressed 1.5" but my car now sits around 1" lower than my bros vrx which has lovell superlows in it (there a 2" drop)..
so by compressing my springs 1.5" i got a 3" drop from standard..same thing happened with tzaboys ralliart...and by the looks of it the red one in this thread is very low with only king lows...

why do u guys get a get super lows in the front and lows in the back? ...
the back end of magnas sit up higher, by putting super lows on the front ur just empasizing it and making ur car look like a wedge,
i actually have the rears compressed more than the fronts so the car sits LEVEL not like a wedge .. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a368/FNFAT6/slamdddd.jpg

I reckon it may be. Mine sits pretty low(koni yellows) and it has lows at the front. Lower than a friends TJ with superlows. I'm almost considering going back to sports/vrx/ralliart springs in the front.

That could've been it! Sounds more like it actually. Couldn't really remember. There's nothing really that could scrape in the rear except the muffler.
why do u guys get a get super lows in the front and lows in the back?
Cause if you buy King springs, you don't really get a choice dude. Your right, it kinda looks wedgish... but I dunno, I think it sort of makes the gap in the wheel arches look around the same, front and back. It's not a bad look, anyhow.

And they're driving around in illegally modified cars, any of them could be rightfully defected if a cop wanted to ping them for something. It's a risk a lot of people who modify cars take.

thats the difference between lovells and kings superlows front. yellow is lovells red kings.
not alot but the subtle difference in the wheel arch and the front lip is noticeable.

ah yeah. do lovells superlows have the same problem as king superlows did?(apparently if you jack the car up they become loose as well as having wheel allignment issues).
[J3RK]
21-02-2007, 01:54 PM
i have jacked car up a few times and never had a problem with them coming loose.
also i have rims that ive had on for a good 4 months or so and have had no un-even wheel wear at all.. so my alignment must be ok

sounds good then man. will they become illegal on s/lows??? im still deciding if i care if its going to be illegal lol....also like i said b4 i have king lows already n im told there will be a 15-20mm drop with the lovells superlows, does this sound right? n would you guys say its worth it??

i rang the guys at equipe automotive and have decided that the lovells SLs will be the way too go. (50mm drop all round and i may still compress the rears even lower!)
for $110 a pair compaired to the kingies 89.99pr i dont mind paying the extra difference.
lower is better!!!

i think pedders super lows are just a little bit lower than lovells again. bit i cant confirm this cos i havent compared

yeah illegal on the lovells. another 10-15mm drop would sound about right to me on the lovells. i dont know if its worth it when ur already on lows, but u can definitely notice the difference between the two.

Mine sits flat with that combination. Yes, magnas sit high at the rear, but with my springs, it sits pretty level

I put lovells supalows front and rear on my 2oo1TJ, not a problem, wheel alighnment was a few mm out but $66 to fix, is legal in WA, springs are fully captured, could easily go another 30mm lower but i heard that any more than 50mm from standard causes camber problems.

best idea is to get the rims first, then the springs, as the wheels and tyres will fill out the guard, as well as boosting the car up a bit, that you'll need to work out how far to drop it. no point dumping it on its ass now then finding its too low wen the rims go on!

I agree with Spackbace, new rims and tyres first. Dont know pricing for Kings but Lovells supalows front and rear cost me $240 just for springs, 4 new struts $480, did the fitting myself took about 5HRS for a first timer.
King lows are illegal already if you wanna be technical, so you might as well go ahead and lower it further.
