Hi guys,
Im posting today to gauge an opinion about what I should do about a flat tyre issue recently.
To start from the beginning, i bought a 2000, KH Verada Xi (brilliant) two onths ago that came with aftermarket 18" alloy wheels and tyres. Last week i came out of work to find one of the tyres flat. This would not have been an issue but the wheel nuts were non factory so the tyre brace did not fit or work. After i organized one that will fit, i discoverd that the wheels had locking nuts on them and as i was not supplied the key the car had to be tilt trayed home (the flat was at the rear). I then had the car towed to my local Bob Jane dealer where i was told that the nuts had to be broken off and replaced as well as the tyre could not repaired as it was unroadworthy due to some wear on the inside edge. He also mentioned that the front tyre on the same side also had to be replaced.
After balancing and wheel alignments, the total bill for my simple flat tyre was $635 including towing.
My question is should i be able to get the car dealer to pay for at least some of the bill as i could not change the tyre as well as it not being roadworthy? If so i will pursue the dealer, if not then i suppose ill have to wear the cost. any input would be appreciated, thanks.
