Can't seem to make my mind up if I want to keep my chrome door handles or get a set of black ones like off aVRX or Ralliart.

I'm going for more of a sleek/classie stlye than an out there bling mobile. Make sense?

Trying to figure out if the chrome door handles ad a bit of flair to it but still keep it sleekish? Will the black handles be too much black and nothing to break the colour up?

What do you guys think?

Ultimately I'd loved to take the door handles off all together and blend it in with the panel and havea remote to open the doors but that is another story all together.

If thats the style you are going for (and I can't blame you) - then yes, loose the chrome door handles.

DO IT!!!! No, I'm serious....... I've always wanted to see a fully skimmed and shaved Magna, but if you're going to go down that path - please don't stop at the door handles........ do the arial knob thingy, fuel fuller cover, and that stupid "crease" in the rear bumper at a minimum.

If you have an accident how are the emergency services supposed to open the doors to get to you? Think you will find its illegal to shave the handles.

yeh that was my logic... but then remember their are cars that will lock automatically when the car is started so they would be in the same boat that you woulnt be able to open it...

You can smash the window with a rock, a tool, anything to unlock the door (and open the door using the inside door handle)

Some people flush-mount buttons. A key operated solenoid under the side mirrors would be trick too (if you can't afford remote doors or want a spare entrance).

Emergency services aren't going to attend the scene of an accident only to leave again because the car involved has shaved door handles are they......

They are more than equipped to treat people trapped inside a car until the appropriate equipment for "cutting out" turns up on the scene. Car at least 1 car door is going to be pretty much useless in at least 3/4 car accidents - and they still manage to rescue / save people.

If i did do it thats what I would do, definatly do the arieal and bumper but if you did the fuel cap how would u fill your tank up, put a cap in the boot maybe?

How-so? You still need a key to operate them ala computer-tower style small round ones.

Word. In previous employment of mine i was 'dealing with' damaged vehicles and they often use the jaws of life if they have even a doubt that you're capable of stepping out of the car. Just like a sardine can.

shaved door handles are illegal unless they have a manual override easily accessable on the exterior of the car. I used to do alot of minitrucks and they encountered the same problem. there are numerous ways to do it, the easiest two being
1) extend the door opening rod up until it comes through the belt mould (mould on top of the door) and put a push button on it . a solenoid will be needed to electronically lock and unlock the door.
2)most minitrucks are slammed so low they dont have splash trays (the plastic guard liner above the wheel) so some extend a rod from the door handle to the front of the door, through the lower guard and exit it at the back of the wheel arch. some trickery is needed to get the rods pulling and pushing right so the door catch opens. its not really practicle for a magna though.
you would basically need to hide a button somewhere(not too hidden) on the outside of the car to open the door. you then need an engineer to sign off on it.(good luck!)

PS I put TL/TW colour coded handles on my black TJ, they look great, much neater and more integrated than the originals.

Alot of cars have an emergency door unlock system, a feature which automatically unlocks all doors in the event of a frontal and/or side impact. Some even turn on the interior light. My mum's 98 Camry has this feature as do the 3rd gen Magnas I believe. But you still need door handles obviously otherwise it's of no benefit.

When I crashed my car, the central locking was triggered, so I was locked in the car lol

Honestly, stick with chrome. It will break up the black. Better yet paint them hammered silver, will stand out
